Philip Sharpe

Executive Chairman

Philip Sharpe has been active in the IT and Telecommunications industries for over 20 years. Philip was co-founder and CEO of CAPE Technologies, a pioneer and global leader in Revenue Assurance Solutions for Telecom Operators, from which DANU was divested in 2007 prior to the sale of CAPE to the Sonae Group.

Having completed a degree in Physics, Philip developed his career with STC Telecommunications and Ericsson UK in the 1980’s in the emerging area of mobile communications.  Prior to establishing CAPE Technologies, Philip held several senior management positions within Ericsson Ireland between '93 and 2000.

Philip is a non executive director of the National Digital Research Centre (NDRC), Socowave Ltd and Druid Software Ltd and is an executive council member of the Irish Software Association.


Niall Halpenny

CEO

Niall Halpenny has over 15 years international experience in the telecoms industry focusing on mobile technologies. 

With a career that started as an Engineer with Ericsson supporting the Middle East and African markets and later working within Europe for companies such as Orange, BT and the GSM Association, Niall has held various senior roles such as Systems Architect, Programme Director and CTO. He has in-depth knowledge of the telecoms industry and the underlying market and technology trends. He has been involved in the financial modelling and investor management of several major transactions in areas such as outsourcing, business unit disposal and new start-up ventures.

Niall has well rounded experience of working with bluechip C-level and board level executives and he has frequently spoken at international trade conferences.


Technology Directors

Michael Adams

Michael has over 20 years experience in the Telecoms and IT sectors and was a co-founder of CAPE Technologies. As CTO of CAPE Technologies Michael lead the development of the highly successful RoamBroker® and RevenueOffice® product suites and managed the product management and software engineering functions within the company.

Previous to CAPE, Michael held senior positions in Ericsson, Ellemtel AB and Broadcom.

Michael holds a BA, BAI Engineering and Maths from Trinity College Dublin.


Michael Slevin

Michael is a recognised expert in the field of telecommunications management solutions, a field in which he has worked since 1988.

Prior to DANÚ, he led the Telecom Management division of CAPE Technologies.  Focus areas included service assurance, fault management and systems integration.  He also provided technical consulting to international clients (telecom operators, system vendors, and venture capitalists) focused on the management of Next Generation Networks.

With Broadcom Éireann Research Ltd. Michael was manager of Ericsson’s Network Management Applied Research Lab. This group evaluated the use of "bleeding edge" software technologies, protocols, architectures and techniques for solving network management challenges.


Martin Bolsinger

Martin has more than 18 years experience working in the telecommunications and IT industry.

Martin has overall responsibility for the management of the development and project delivery organization in DANU. Previously, he managed product development organizations for CAPE Technologies and for Vertel’s European product and services division in Berlin, Germany.  Martin worked for Vertel Corp. (California) as Chief Architect driving Vertel’s product direction for 4 years.  He started his career as a Software Engineer in Softlab GmbH, a system integrator and software house located in Munich (Germany).

He has worked in several technical consultant and project management roles for companies such as BMW, ESG, European Space Agency (ESA), Mannesmann (now part of the Vodafone group), Siemens, and Vodafone Ireland.


Ciaran Treanor

Ciaran brings over 18 years of software product development experience to DANU. In recent years prior to joining DANU, Ciaran held positions as Director of Product Development at Allfinanz and Chief Technology Officer at Cusp Point Software, a Software-as-a-Service document management vendor. Between 2001 and 2007, Ciaran held senior management roles at CAPE Technologies. There, as CTO-Products, he was responsible for the production of GSM roaming and revenue assurance software products for the global telecommunications operator market.

Ciaran joined CAPE from Xelector, an intermediary providing white-label financial services comparison shopping, where he held the role of lead architect. Previously, at Broadcom Eireann Research, he ran the telecommunications services research and consulting organisation.



Ciaran holds a B.Eng (Hons) Degree in Electronic Engineering, Dublin City University.
